Elena Stamatopoulou is a Greek oud player and vocalist located in the Netherlands. After having several gigs and collaborations in Greece as an oud player, she is currently studying Jazz Vocals in Conservatorium Maastricht. Her passion for World Music, but also her attraction to Jazz, encouraged her to create The Mera Project , where European music meets Eastern music in a very creative way.
Aimilianos Stavrinos holds degrees in classical piano, harmony, counterpoint, fugue, and a master’s Musicology. He has trained with renowned jazz musicians in Greece, and has performed extensively in the greek music scene, on Greek national television and in musical theater productions such as“The Phantom of the Opera,” “Mamma Mia,” “Matilda,” and “Anastasia.” He has played and toured with various artists and the band "The Swingin’ Cats". His musical identity spans across many different genres and aesthetics. Currently, Aimilianos is pursuing advanced studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, further expanding his expertise.
Starting his drumming career at 11 years old, Samuel Lara is a Spanish drummer and percussionist currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. His passion for folkloric rhythms from different cultures, mixed with his broad studies in jazz music, brings to Mera Project a fusion of modern and adventurous experimentation in his playing without leaving behind the tradition the project is characteristic of.
Cathal Cradden is a multi-instrumentalist currently studying jazz piano and bass at the royal conservatory of the hague. He has been writing recording and producing music for over a decade, and is on a quest for musical versatility. He plays in various projects in the Netherlands, and tries his best to benefit the music
